After finishing my studies at Cambridge Art School and the Royal College of Art, I set off for New York to do freelance illustration for the New York Times, Ms Magazine, and New York Magazine.
Several years later, having returned to England I taught at Middlesex University and Holloway prison, whilst doing yet more freelance work for Penguin Books, Sunday Times, The Observer, Jonathan Cape etc.
I took time away to have children and returned to work as a nurse, running a scrapyard and as a knitwear designer before (on the sound advice of my husband) returning to drawing and painting. He hasn't advised me to give up yet. I currently exhibit in London.
